The napkin blocks from Amenity Home's Arroyo Collection can double as placecard holders.
We’ve long been fans of the eco-friendly, organic bedding from Amenity Home. Since 2004, founders Kristina De Corpo and Nicole Chiala have been manufacturing the chic, modern fabric items — with prints inspired by silhouettes in nature — in Los Angeles. So we were eager to see the company’s new Arroyo Collection of tableware, inspired by the mountains and canyons of Southern California. Each item, from the rectangle tray ($88) to the salt and pepper shakers ($36), is hand-hewn from Forest Stewardship Council-certified, sustainable walnut and finished with food-grade beeswax. Enter our giveaway by May 31, 2010, for a chance to win a set of four napkin blocks, which have a special groove allowing them to double as placecard holders — a $36 value!
The tableware collection also includes an elegant salt and pepper block ($45), as well as sustainable candle blocks ($26–$38) that can be used with smokeless, hand-poured soy pillar candles ($12–$19). Our favorite piece is the sectional tray ($98), perfect for hors d’oeuvres while entertaining! The lucky winner of the napkin blocks can put them to use holding organic percale napkins ($50, set of four), available in warm colors, such as cream, cocoa and gray. Complete the table look with placemats ($19–$25, set of four) and table runners ($79–$99). Amenity Home also offers a variety of pillows, alpaca throws from Peru and a Muir Collection of furnishings made from reclaimed wood, as well as a nursery collection. Sign up for Amenity’s newsletter by entering your email address on the website special deals — including a 20-percent-off code, good through July 1, 2010!
We like the modern, yet warm and earthy feel of Amenity Home items. In fact, before we told you about Stefanie Iris Weiss’ Eco Sex (Ten Speed Press, 2010), Amenity Home’s bedding was the first thing we thought of when greening our bedroom. How do you make your home stylish and environmentally friendly?
