Happy campers at Joan Lunden's Camp Reveille, an annual getaway for women who want to recharge and relax.
As a child, we missed out on summer camp: This is why we had to take swimming lessons as an adult and have subpar marshmallow-roasting skills. Now, we have a second chance — a getaway Aug. 20–23 for women ages 25–75 in southern Maine at Camp Reveille, designed by Joan Lunden, a proponent of women’s wellness and longtime co-host of Good Morning America. Even better, if you submit an essay of 200 words or less by June 15, you have a chance to win a complimentary enrollment for yourself or a friend!
The camp program, in its third year, is located along the shores of Long Lake in Naples, ME, and was created for busy women to relax, connect with other women and renew both mind and body. There are no mandatory activities; campers can choose to participate in tennis, climbing, yoga, Pilates, fitness classes and water sports (sailing, canoeing and swimming) or relax with Murad facials, a movie night and campfire conversations. Plus, you won’t be resting your head on scratchy camp sheets — the cabins have special linens and down comforters.
If you don’t win the essay contest, the special recession price is $899 for four days and three nights, plus the cost of transportation. “If we want to be our best as women, we must take care of ourselves,” says Lunden. “That means taking a break from our demanding schedules to revitalize mind and body.”
We believe it’s important to re-energize — check out VIVmag’s May/June recharge issue for some water-based spa getaways. What’s your favorite way to lift your spirits?
