Sheer black sleeves added drama to Monique Lhuillier's fall collection.
With splashy Bryant Park runway shows going the way of snooty salespeople, VIVmag’s fashion editors zigzagged all over New York City during Fashion Week in an effort to cover some of the more intimate presentations. Below are a few of our top fall favorites. Stay tuned for more!
Monique Lhuillier
The Oak Room at The Plaza provided a romantic backdrop for Lhuillier’s dramatic collection. While only 12 pieces were shown, Lhuillier didn’t disappoint; her unique designs combined the unexpected (black long sleeves that resembled a pair of stockings with multiple runs) with her signature delicate lace, ruffled tiers and intricate beading. Bold necklaces and earrings added to the drama.
Barbara Tfank
Tfank is known for her timeless collections that appeal to women of all ages. Pairing classic navy with violet gave her looks a modern edge, while pops of floral prints on the shoes and certain clothes added a fresh touch. Standouts included a brocade floral belted dress with a sweetheart neckline and a classic navy dress with pleated sleeves.
Luca Luca
These figure-flattering pieces are sure to be a hit with socialites. The sophisticated day-into-night collection focused on rich fabrics such as satin, velvet, wool and hints of fur in gray, black and stunning jewel tones. Add a bold red lip and smooth loose waves for an extra-sexy and effortlessly elegant look. The scarlet one-shoulder cocktail dress was a knockout!
