One Kings Lane members get exclusive prices on luxury home items, such as these handpainted Birds of India pillows by John Robshaw Textiles.
When Susan Feldman and Alison Pincus moved to the West Coast from Manhattan, they missed home décor finds from New York City sample sales. So the two came up with a solution by creating One Kings Lane, an exclusive online shopping site featuring designer home goods — including china, cookware, floor coverings, garden items, lighting, linens and pillows — for up to 70 percent off retail prices. The newly launched site currently offers five 72-hour sales per week, each beginning at 11 a.m. EST.
Membership is free but requires an invitation — for yours, simply click here. Sign up to check out the latest deals and receive email notices about the sales. During previous sales, we’ve discovered an Atticus Noblesse bowl for $179 (regular price $380), blue and white embroidered Fiona duvet sets from Serena & Lily for $89–$139 (regularly $229–$349) and chic, modern DwellStudio table linens, such as the set of four Chinoiserie Vellum placemats adorned with delicate birds for $39 (regularly $97). We found ourselves leaning closer to our computer’s screen, as if to sniff the Alora Ambiance soy candles — available for $20, half the usual price. Bonus: Every week, you’ll also find tips from interior designers (such as Hollywood’s Kenneth Brown), chefs and event planners.
We love these online shopping sites that offer luxe items at deep discounts — we also recently told you about clothing and accessory deals at Rue La La and Gilt.com. In these harsh economic times, we’re glad it’s so easy to find a bargain without sacrificing quality. What do you think about the new sample-sale-meets-laptop trend?
