La Perla Opens East Hampton Pop-Up Shop

La Perla's East Hampton pop-up shop, which showcases the brand's swimwear collection, will remain open through Labor Day.

A May trip to the Hamptons found us scouring area shops for a pair of jeans, which we wore right out of J. Crew. (We knew the sea air would be chilly. But we didn’t know our pants were at home until we stopped for lunch at Cyril’s Fish House in Amagansett.) Now that the Atlantic Ocean temperature is just right for swimming, we’re glad to know that La Perla has opened a pop-up shop in East Hampton at 66 Newtown Lane, right off Main Street.

The store showcases the Italian luxury brand’s swimwear collection, such as the Damia bikini ($352) with braided decoration and the pleated Belis swimsuit ($373) with neck detail. But our favorite item that showcases La Perla’s hand-detailing is the Heloisa one-piece ($683) with an interlacing design across the midriff to evoke the Brooklyn Bridge. The Hamptons La Perla location, which will remain open through Labor Day, has a white, minimalist interior with poolside imagery — perfect when picking up a pareo (we call them sarongs) or a beach dress, such as the elegant Katelyn dress ($573). The boutique also carries the line’s signature lingerie items — robes, chemises, nightgowns and corsets.

With this store open, we might just “forget” our bathing suit on the next trip. We love getting away from it all, but we’re glad that boutiques offer beach outposts. Do you tend to buy beachwear beforehand or do you purchase swimsuits seaside?
