Flip on ExerciseTV for an impromptu at-home workout.
We love the gym, we love the yoga studio; we are not among those who detest places where strangers and sweat mingle. And yet, sometimes a child has the sniffles or we’re waiting for an important delivery and we just can’t get to these places. That’s where On Demand ExerciseTV comes in. We didn’t even know we had it until a gym-hating friend pointed it out. It’s offered for no additional charge on AT&T, Bresnan Communications, Comcast, Cox Communications, Time Warner Cable and Verizon FiOS. Accessing it is easy; we simply go to the On Demand menu, select “Sports & Fitness” and then “ExerciseTV.” Once there, we can choose from a bunch of workouts available 24/7, including cardio, Pilates, sculpting, walking, yoga and more. We don’t have to plan ahead or buy and store DVDs. Talk about convenient!
Lineups change regularly so we never get bored, and there’s always a mix of 20-minute workouts for time-crunched days as well as longer classes. Right now, we’re trying the Make Me Over 40 Minute Workout, a cardio and strength training class, and we’re looking forward to new additions this fall. This month, the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders workout with trainer Jay Johnson debuts (yippee — we can break out the hot pants!), while next month celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak will share his 5 Factor Fitness workout. In December, there will be YogaWorks classes. Not bad for cable TV.
We’re thinking positive; the economy is stabilizing. But we also like the idea that if we must, we can put our gym membership on hold and still get a decent workout at home. How about you? What do you do for exercise when you’re crunched for time or cash?

I’m a huge ExerciseTV fan. I dropped my gym membership in January and surprisingly, after a month of ExerciseTV and once a week long runs, I lost 5 pounds (mind you, I was already a very in-shape person). Not only do I save money but I never get bored with the rotating workouts!
wow! I didn’t even know i had this on my television. I just checked it out and love it! There are some really great, solid workout to try. The Jillian Michaels workouts kicked my butt and the Holly Perkins Strength Training workout was great! I found that one in Pink Ribbon Workouts. Thanks for turning me onto this.
I’ve been a fan of On Demand Exercise TV for years. As a young(er) woman with a chronic lung disease, this affords me a good workout in private as desired.
