Event Leftovers Site Offsets Cost for Party Hosts

Event Leftovers

Event Leftovers offers party supplies for a fraction of the original price.

Whether we’re planning a holiday soiree or a birthday bash, we’re more than familiar with the sticker shock that accompanies each item on our must-purchase list, from favors to centerpieces to invitations. Worse still is the question that lingers long after the last guest has left: What are we to do with all this gently used (or completely unused) stuff?! Thankfully, there’s now a solution: Log on to just-launched resale site EventLeftovers.com. Better yet, we advise visiting the site before you start provisioning your next party to score amazing supplies at a fraction of the original price.

Everyone’s welcome, from high-profile professionals (VIVmag contributor and event planner to the stars Colin Cowie lists his leftovers!), florists and rental companies to those of us who simply seem to be hosting one gala after another. While it’s free to register and post items, there’s a small transaction fee to the seller when an item is purchased. Categories include event décor such as votives and centerpieces; floral needs from vases to plastic plants; catering and venue supplies such as linens and tableware; entertainment and technical supplies for deejays and photographers; beauty and fashion items such as clothing and jewelry; paper goods for invitations; and party favors.

We’re glad we’ll no longer have to eat the cost of all of our entertaining. After all, ’tis the season to plan a party — and to be eco- and budget-conscious. What upcoming events are you most excited to be hosting or attending?
