David Meister creations, such as this mulberry shoulder twist stretch-satin cocktail dress, are available from the designer's new online shop.
Many enviable red-carpet fashions are the creations of designer David Meister — from Tina Fey’s strapless eggplant gown at the 2008 Emmy Awards to dresses that landed Diane Lane and Viola Davis on many best-dressed lists after the 2009 Screen Actors Guild Awards. Meister’s sought-after elegant, body-conscious silhouettes previously were available only at high-end retailers such as Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale’s and Neiman Marcus, but now we have the convenience of the newly launched online store at DavidMeister.com. “I am excited to sell direct to the consumer and offer women one shopping location that encompasses the full collection,” Meister says.
Shoppers have the option of browsing from several categories — for eveningwear, look to the gowns section for knockouts such as a one-shoulder silk dress ($520), pleated and draped at the waist. Cocktail dresses include the one-shoulder mulberry satin tank ($395, shown) and a V-neck frock ($415) with beaded trim and ruched center in sapphire. Daytime selections include an abstract-print sheath ($395) and some perfect little black dresses. A range of special sizes from 14W to 24W also are available. Fans can even show their online support on the David Meister Facebook page — and join the VIVmag group on Facebook while you’re at it!
It seems as if more high-end designers are creating one-stop online shops to showcase their collections. Do you find yourself buying online, or simply using these as a tool to narrow your selection before heading to your preferred retailer?
