VIV Moment

The night of my son’s birth I was wheeled into a supply room because there were no birthing rooms available. It seemed that everyone decided to have their babies at the same time that night.

When my husband asked the nurse for my epidural, the nurse said, “Honey, this baby is coming right now.” On hearing that news, I had a little talk with myself. I just knew my inner strength was so strong and that my body would do exactly as it was supposed to do. I had no fear of the pain or the surprise of how quickly my baby was arriving.

I had this incredible moment of getting in touch with my whole spirit and knowing my power as a woman was absolutely amazing.

I have often revisited that moment in time to remind myself of my own strength and the mind-body connection. My healthy son (9 pounds, 2 ounces) had 10 toes and 10 tiny fingers.
