People, life, competitive tennis (playing and watching), and preparing and eating fabulous food! Philanthropy and international education projects. Watching my children grow more and more independent of me every day; traveling the world with my family, my husband Joel and my children Evan and Kyra-Lani; sharing time with friends and family.

VIV Moment

My Moment came after a five-hour trance guided by mystic, teacher and author Valerie V. Hunt, Ph.D. We met at a woman’s group in Malibu in the 1980s. The group was comprised of a judge, a writer, a lawyer, an artist, a doctor, a healer and me, a gymnastics coach.

When she put her hands into my mind-field (about 1 foot above my body) I began to experience images of lifehoods. It was like watching movies behind my closed eyes. In one of these “movies,” I began to speak in the lilting rhythm of the Nubian language of the people of the upper Nile in southern Egypt.

Hunt recognized this rhythmic quality of the language from her travels through the Nubian tribes, south of the Aswan lake. She directed me when I broke into the “tongue” to let my thoughts flow into and through the English language. I did this without losing the tonal or phrasing qualities of the Nubian, and re-experienced that lifehood which had been in real time thousands of years ago. This was just one of the past life recall moments of lifetime after lifetime of female experience… and of memories of persecution for speaking the truth of what I know as a million-year-old soul. (This experience was later recorded in Hunt’s book Infinite Mind, Science of the Human Vibrations of Consciousness .)

It was a shocking awakening, and I didn’t quite know what to do with all of that information then, but after that, I worked on a different level with young women on my teams, empowering them to be fully engaged in their bodies, bringing emotional expression into artistry as I coached the U.S. Rhythmic Gymnastics National team for many years, traveling all over the world.
