The new edition of The Book Club Cookbook (Tarcher, 2012) contains recipes such as oyster Brie soup, inspired by Water For Elephants (Algonquin Books of Chapel Hill, 2006) and Jennifer Egan’s oatmeal fudge “refrigerator” cookies, symbolic of her approach to writing her Pulitzer Prize-winning A Visit from the Goon Squad (Anchor, 2011). There’s even a recipe for “Demetrie’s Chocolate Pie,” author Kathryn Stockett’s inspiration for Minny’s infamous dessert for Hilly Holbrook in The Help (Amy Einhorn Books, 2011)!
